As a forensic specialist in the risk control department of The Travelers Companies, Frank Pritzl provides consulting services for Travelers insured’s and internal business partners in claims, Risk Control and Underwriting. His expertise includes the areas of ground vehicle accident reconstruction, fire and explosion losses, and products liability. Frank joined Travelers in 2008, after briefly running his own consulting practice advising clients on motor vehicle safety-related matters.

Previously, Frank spent 16 years at Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA). There, he last occupied the role of Supervisor, Safety Engineering with the responsibility of leading several safety engineers in the field of product safety and regulatory analysis. His career at MBUSA started in 1991 as a Product Analysis Engineer which provided exposure to accident reconstruction, vehicle fire investigation, occupant kinematics and injury mechanisms. Prior to coming to the U.S., he worked as an Automotive Engineer at DEKRA AG of Stuttgart, Germany.

Frank graduated in 1988 with a Master of Science degree in Safety Engineering from the University of Wuppertal in Germany. He is certified as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). He also holds certificates as a fire and explosion investigator and a vehicle fire investigator from the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).

Frank is a member of a variety of professional organizations, including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the New Jersey Association of Accident Reconstructionists (NJAAR), the New York Statewide Traffic Accident Reconstruction Society, the National Fire Protection Association and the International Association of Arson Investigators. He served over 15 years as a board member of NJAAR and is currently the chairman of the SAE Data Collection and Archiving Standards Committee.
