Welcome to NJAAR
The New Jersey Association of Accident Reconstructionists started in 1991 as a dream of a few New Jersey police officers who wanted to create a network of individuals with interests in the field of accident reconstruction. Its membership has grown to encompass individuals from many states in all fields of accident reconstruction. We have a large membership base that includes many professionals not only from the police community, but the private sector as well.

NJAAR was formed to promote Traffic Safety through accident investigation, and in so doing, promote the welfare of its members. Its purposes are:

-
To provide professional standards for members investigating accidents;
-
To promote the continued expansion of members’ knowledge in the area of technical accident investigation;
-
To promote Traffic Safety through improving accident investigation;
-
To promote and enhance the expertise of its members through training and the exchange of ideas.
NJAAR is a co-sponsor of the joint accident reconstruction conference that is held annually each fall with shared support from the NATARI, NAPARS, NYSTARS, and MDATAI organizations. The annual conferences provide attendees with the opportunity to receive up-to-date training, observe live crash testing, and network with professionals in the accident reconstruction community.

NJAAR is a participating organization of the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists (ACTAR) and maintains a representative to assist its membership with any ACTAR-related concerns.
